Today’s rock stars are often reluctant of the spotlight and in turn, not very interesting.  Thankfully we still have Axl Rose and Courtney Love to keep the insanity alive!  Once again, both have recently ruffled the feathers of music fans and pop culture fanatics everywhere.

[Famous For]: Lead singer of Guns N’ Roses for over 25 years.

[Past Eyebrow Raising Incidents]: Known to insight riots during concerts,  habitually late to go on stage, over a decade long delay for the studio album ‘Chinese Democracy’, and break up from every single original member of the band.

[Recent Incident]: Refusal of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Rose even wrote a letter to the L.A. Times explaining his position and why he would not be attending.  The letter was dramatic, contradictory, and everything you would expect from Mr. Rose.  Followed up after the induction ceremony with a letter thanking everyone for their support.

[Famous For]: Wife of Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and lead singer of Hole.

[Past Eyebrow Raising Incidents]: Admitted use of heroin during pregnancy (first trimester),   constant battles over music rights with past members of Nirvana, lost custody (twice) to daughter, and numerous accounts of public intoxication.

[Recent Incident]: Via Twitter, accused ex-Nirvana and current Foo Fighters star, David Grohl, of hitting on her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.  In response her daughter Frances has denied the accusation and pleaded for someone to remove her mother from Twitter.

Actually, both incidents are very much in line with their past.  Axl Rose has an alleged history of being difficult in every sense of the word.  Being difficult becomes a distraction to those around him.  Case in point, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony ended up just as focused on who wasn’t there as who was.  This is not necessarily crazy, just Axl being Axl, which is Axl being difficult.  Courtney Love is just plain unpredictable.  It’s actually not fair to criticize when you are unable to comprehend their actions, as is with me and Ms. Love.  So I won’t criticize.  I will just say that in this case unpredictable = crazy, or at least more crazy than Axl Rose.  Congratulations!
