(Album Review) Savage Henry And The Infamous One Pounders Get Off Easily

Somehow this band got past my ears, I mean, seriously how have I never heard of this group before? Part punk, part Steel Panther, part musical pornography…Savage Henry And The Infamous One Pounders are entertaining. Everyone’s cup of tea? No, definitely not, but if you are looking for good fun “punky” rock that is heavy on riffs and sexual innuendo, this is a band you need to check out.

The new album, Get Off Easy, is also the title of the opening track, a good riff that introduced me to what I would be listening to throughout the album, a sleazy, riff heavy fun listen that disregards all political correctness and probably laws in some states. The next track, “Big Mama”, builds on this. Savage Henry’s voice is very punk, much more Sex Pistols than say, Steel Panther. “Get My Kicks” is actually just a great dirty rock and roll song that I immediately replayed to get another listen.

Savage Henry And The Infamous One Pounders are definitely not for everyone, but fans of punk rock that is heavy on riffs and sexual innuendo will get a kick out of this band.

The rest of the album is more of the same, hard rocking tracks with lots of aggressive sex in the lyrics. Very consistent (in a good way) and was surprised with “Werewolf” which was another track that really stood out and joins my must listen along with “Get Off Easy” and “Get My Kicks.”
